Line ‘Em Up At Lansky’s
We have set up a Lansky’s Pizza Booster Fundraiser night for the first Monday of each month. There will be a box at the cash register where, if you deposit your receipt, 15% of the deposited receipts will be donated to the band boosters. (No other discounts can be used, such as senior discounts.) We will put the dates on the calendar below and you should do the same. The good news is that the event begins at 3 p.m. and continues until close, so you can pick up a pizza after school, on the way home from work or go out for a delicious dine-in dinner. We have a double bonus for February: Our first booster night is February 1, and we’ve also been given a second booster night the evening of our booster social outing at Lansky’s on February 10.
More Munchies For Monday’s
We are in the process of setting up a “Fundraiser/Caring & Sharing” night for every Monday of the month. Thus far we have lined up Lansky’s for the first Monday, and we are in the process of moving Culver’s to Mondays and setting up Blimpie and Don & Millie’s for the remaining two. Each of those nights will offer you the opportunity on busy Mondays to skip cooking and help raise money for the band. More information will be in the next newsletter. Once we get this set up, we will send out a weekly reminder on Sunday evening.
No Need To Go Door To Door
The annual band donation letter drive is less than a month away. Each year, instead of asking students to sell $250 worth of overpriced food, trinkets and wrapping paper, the band sends out a letter to friends and family members simply asking for a donation to the band program. Mr. Hardin is asking each student to bring at least 20 names and addresses. The students will address and mail the letters using class time on February 10. Each letter is signed by the student and contains a self-addressed stamped return envelope. Feel free to send in address labels with your students if you have lots of names, and if you know of a business that might want to contribute to the band, we can either mail the business a letter or students can hand-deliver them.
Auction Update
It is never too early to be thinking about donations. Did you get a gift or gift card over the holiday that is perfect, but not perfect for you? Do you work at a business that can donate an auction item or gift card? Mark your calendar for April 1, and send out a “Save the Date” to your friends and family members.
